Galvanize Law hosts Boys Hope Girls Hope for a panel presentation on construction entrepreneurship

Galvanize Law hosted Boys Hope Girls Hope of Colorado scholars at Tradecraft Industries for a Lunch and Learn about entrepreneurship in the Colorado construction sector. Scholars heard from local business leaders and owners including Bryce Ballew, Founder of Tradecraft Industries, Ashley Butts, President & CEO of Powell Restoration, Christy Crook, Founder & President of Phoenix Masonry, Tom Sedwick, Managing Partner at Element Systems, and Kate Strauss, Founding Partner at Galvanize Law.

We are so appreciative of the panelist for sharing their knowledge and experience with the Boys Hope Girls Hope scholars. Among many of the topics discussed, panelists shared how they got started in the construction industry, what they wished they would have known when they were first starting, the skills necessary to be an entrepreneur in their field, and advice they would give to someone who wants to be an entrepreneur.

After an open discussion with the panelists, scholars broke into small groups with each of the business owners.  Over lunch, the groups created a fictional business.  Galvanize Founding Partner Kate Strauss then walked through the business set-up checklist with the whole group, highlighting how portions of the list that would be important to forming and running the different types of fictional businesses.
